This ancient Greek coin was minted from 350–300 BC. The denomination is a Hemidrachm. The Coin was struck in the PARION Mint in Northern Turkey. The Obverse shows the Face and hair of snakes, the Gorgoneion also know as the Face of “Medusa”. This image was used on every shield of Alexander the Greats army to strike fear into their enemies.
